Keep your number
Keep your number. Forward it to Cedri.
Your customers keep calling the number on your truck, your website and your Google listing. Your phone company sends those calls to your Cedri line, and your receptionist answers. It takes about a minute.
How it works
You have two numbers: the one your customers already call, and your Cedri number. You tell your phone company to send some or all calls from the first to the second. Your customers dial the number they know, and your receptionist answers. Nothing changes on your website, your truck or your Google listing.
Your dashboard walks you through it
In your Cedri dashboard, under Settings then Phone, the steps are filled in with your own numbers, and a test call confirms it works. The examples below use 12895550123: replace it with 1 followed by your Cedri number.
Only the calls you miss, or every call
Most owners forward only the calls they miss: your phone rings first, and Cedri answers when you don't pick up, you're on another call or your phone is off. You can also send every call to Cedri.
On a cell phone
These codes work on Canadian cell networks. On the business phone, open the keypad, type the code like a phone number, then press Call. A message on the screen confirms it within a few seconds.
Only the calls you miss (recommended)
Dial **004*12895550123#. Your phone still rings first. When you don't answer, you're on another call or your phone is off, Cedri answers.
Every call
Dial **21*12895550123#. Your phone stops ringing and Cedri answers every call. On iPhone you can also go to Settings, then Phone, then Call Forwarding. On Android, open the Phone app, then Settings, then Calls or Supplementary services, then Call forwarding.
Turn it off
Dial ##004#, or ##21# if you forwarded every call. On some carriers ##004# also turns off voicemail, because voicemail uses the same kind of forwarding. If yours stops working, call your carrier.
If a code doesn't work
Call your cell provider and ask them to forward the calls you don't answer to your Cedri number. It is usually a short call.
On a landline
Home and business landlines use star codes too, and your phone company can set up the rest.
Every call
Pick up the phone and dial *72. Wait for the dial tone, then dial 12895550123. Wait for the confirmation tone, then hang up. Dial *73 to turn it off.
Only when you don't answer or the line is busy
Ask your phone company to set up call forwarding on no answer and on busy, to your Cedri number.
Ready to stop missing calls? Set it up in about five minutes.
Get startedOn an office phone system or a phone app
In your phone system's settings, set your Cedri number as where unanswered or after-hours calls go. Your phone system provider can do it for you in a few minutes.
Check that it works
From another phone, not the business phone, call your business number. If you forward only the calls you miss, don't answer it. Cedri answers, and the call shows up in your dashboard a moment later.
Voicemail answered instead
Your carrier still sends missed calls to voicemail first. Dial the code again, or ask your carrier to send missed calls to your Cedri number instead of voicemail.
Nothing happened
Wait a minute after turning it on, then call again, and check that you dialled 1 before the Cedri number.
Common questions
Can I still answer calls myself?
Yes. With only the calls you miss forwarded, your phone rings first as it always has.
Does it cost anything?
Cedri doesn't charge for it. Some phone plans count forwarded calls against your minutes or charge for call forwarding, so check yours if you're unsure.
What do my customers see?
They call the number they already know, and your Cedri number stays behind the scenes. Texts, like booking confirmations, come from your Cedri number.
